Biography

Dr. Pier Vitale Nuzzo is an Oncologist and Scientist at the Center for Functional Cancer Epigenetics, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – Harvard University in Boston. He graduated summa cum laude in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Genoa in 2009. He continued his studies at the University of Genoa, where he specialized in Medical Oncology in 2015 and later obtained a PhD in Oncology and Hematology in 2019 in collaboration with Harvard University. His research and work are focused on the search for tumor biomarkers, genetics and epigenetics of tumors, and immunotherapy of genitourinary tumors. Last year, he was awarded the ASCO-GU 2019 Merit Award for his research in the field of immunotherapy of urogenital tumors. His current research is focused on the development of the cfMeDIP-seq assay, an innovative and highly sensitive technique that allows the identification and classification of tumors in a non-invasive manner through the identification of the tumor-specific methylation profile in biological fluids. Dr. Nuzzo is the author of more than 30 indexed papers in international journals, is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Translational Medicine, and a reviewer for international journals. Dr. Pier Vitale Nuzzo will be responsible for the Early Cancer Detection area and will sit on the Scientific Board of IMMUNOMICA.
